Audition Camp Recipes at Home

Looking for RV-friendly camp recipes? Home-bound for the winter? Take the advice of Janet Groene, author of Cooking Aboard Your RV, 2nd Edition (Ragged Mountain Press) and try new recipes at home.

"Look at new recipes from two angles," suggests Janet. "First, will they work for your family's tastes and dietary needs? Second, will they work in camp when you're without the conveniences you have at home?" Go to CampAndRVCook.blogspot.com for today's camp recipe. Adding several new recipes a week, Janet's blog is for all campers, from tenters who cook over an oven fire to RVers who have ovens and microwaves.

"I have been there, done that," reflects Janet, who began as a tent camper, full-timed for ten years in a 21-foot mini, and is now a part-timer again. "Even the most luxurious motorhome has limited counter space, limited freshwater, limited grey water capacity, limited space for trash stowage, electricity that is sometimes sketchy, and rarely a dishwasher.

When I share a recipe it's with all these limitations in mind. Foremost, however, I know that campers are out to have a good time and that means great meals. Visit me often at CampAndRVCook.blogspot.com."
