Parkview Riverside RV Park
Concan, TX

by Ed Weidig
(Austin, TX)

My first trip after upgrading from a popup to my Trailmanor was to Parkview Riverside RV Park in Concan just north of Uvalde. It is just across the Frio river from Garner State Park.

There are shaded pull-through spaces for larger rigs, and wide easily accessible back-in spaces overlooking the river. All spaces have picnic tables and fire rings and 50 amp service. The park is equipped with wi-fi. Shower room, laundry, and game room were all well kept.

Paddle boat rentals are available near the campground. The office store is reasonably well stocked, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Fishing is good in the Frio river. There are some areas roped off for swimming. The State Park just across the river also has campgrounds, but I didn't look into them. I did go to Garner State Park to walk some of the scenic trails -- well worth the $3(senior) entry fee.

Parkview Riverside is a member of Passport America, Happy Campers and TACO. Passport annd Happy Camper rates are limited to off season -- but in Texas that still allows plenty of good camping weather.
On a scale of 1 - 5 I'd rate this one a 5.
