RV Interior Lights Not Working

by Alex (New Brunswick)

Question: I have a 1993 Flagstaff tent trailer and neither one of my interior lights work. The bulbs are good and an outdoor light is on.

Answer: We assume your lights run on your 12-volt house battery and that the outside light does as well. If so, then we can eliminate the 12-volt battery as a problem. So it seems that the source of the problem could be faulty or loose wiring, a bad fuse or a bad light switch. You can try to troubleshoot this by testing with a voltmeter starting at the light source or the battery and working your way to the other end.
