Portable Propane Gas Grill

Question: Can I hook up a portable propane gas grill to my existing RV propane tank?

Answer: Yes you can. Many RVers do this and can be a do-it-yourself project IF and ONLY IF you are COMFORTABLE working with propane. All you need is the proper adapter(s) and a long enough flexible propane hose. The flexible hose will plug directly into the port where the portable propane grill’s small tank is connected.

If you do decide to make this a do-it-yourself project, make a diagram of all the connections showing all the parts and pieces you need. This will help you get a clear picture of what is needed. Many RV stores will carry what you need. If you go to a Camping World store you will also be able to get help in choosing what you need. Your project is not over until you have checked all your connections for gas leaks – you can use soapy water.

If you are not comfortable working with propane, we highly recommend you have a qualified RV technician do this work. You do not want to take any chances with propane or your rig.
