Workamper Job
We enjoyed our workamper job at Amazon.com . We have worked for Amazon for two seasons now. Typically this workamper job requires that you sign up for two or three months work. You earn some extra money and your site is paid for. The work requires some long shifts on your feet. This is clearly stated in the job description.
The first yearm we arrived in mid-October to begin work at the Coffeyville Kansas Fulfillment Center. Our commitment was right up to a couple days before Christmas. There were earlier start dates as well. These seasonal jobs help Amazon with their peak holiday season. There are various positions that handle receiving, stowing, shipping and filling orders.
The compensation includes an RV site and an hourly wage for all hours worked. Amazon uses workampers at their Coffeyville Kansas and Campbellsville Kentucky facilities.
We were interested in maximizing the hours we could work, so were glad to put in overtime beyond 40 hours. We were amazed at the variety of merchandise that flows though the Fullfillment Center.
There are various campingrounds near the Coffeyville KS Amazon facility. Those right in Coffeyville are nothing great, but we were working most of the time anyway. So the convenient location 5 miles from the Fullfillment Center was fine for us. We worked as Stowers in Cofffeyville, getting incoming products "stowed" into categorized bins within the warehouse, so that orders could be effectively filled for the holiday season.
The next year we signed on again with Amazon - this time in Campbellsville, Kentucky. We started at the end of October. This time, our workamper job was as “Pickers”, which means we were sort of like Santa’s helpers helping to fill orders. We walked all around the warehouse with our scanners, and “picked” the needed products from the shelves. We walked (briskly) about 15 miles a day - so we got our exercise as well as our wages.
We found this Amazon position, our workamper job in Cody Wyoming and our campground job on Cape Cod all through Workamper News.
