Ideal RV Motorhome Size

Question: How big is too big? What is the ideal size to live in an RV fulltime?

Answer: There is no one answer to this question. It is truly a matter of personal preference and priorities. We are serious about the process we suggest on our home page. Go through that A-C-T process to evaluate what is important to you.

There is no such thing as one size fits all. If there were, then we wouldn’t find the assortment of RV brands, types and models that are available in the market.

There are RVers who want lots of living space and all the comforts of a traditional house. Others will choose more modest accommodation, trading off large living quarters for more maneuverability and versatility off the beaten path. Some people care about the kitchen counter space, others want a large TV or full-size fridge. Storage space may be more important than living space. Towing capacities may be a key factor.

Fortunately there are a myriad of floor plans and options out there. But the most important thing is to figure out your own priorities. So as we suggest: read, learn, go to RV shows, look at various types of rigs. And if you are a true newbie, definitely rent an RV and try things out before you buy.
