Question: I have a Class C motorhome, Four Winds 28a. I have very slow running water (both hot and cold) from the kitchen faucet. The bathroom, shower and outdoor shower are fine, but the kitchen comes out very slow. This is the same whether I am hooked up to city water or use the water pump.
What could cause this?
Answer: It seems that you may have an obstruction in the faucet. The most likely culprit is the aerator at the end of the faucet. First step is to remove the aerator from the faucet (it unscrews) and clean it out well.
Next with the aerator off the faucet, open both the hot and cold water fully to flush out the line. Make sure no one else has a faucet open, you want full power. If you get a good stream of water then the aerator was at fault and just clean or replace it.
If the water still does not come out full force, then you may have kinked or obstructed supply lines. I think this would be unlikely, but if it is the case then you will have to trace the lines back to source of the problem or have a repair facility help you in diagnosing the problem.
Another possibility is that you have a clogged filter that only services your kitchen faucet, although it is uncommon to have a filter placed on the both the cold and hot water side.
Another long shot is that you may also have a water consumption reducer as part of the aerator assembly, although it is not likely. It is possible that a broken or misaligned reducer could cause slow water flow, but there are too many different configurations in faucet assemblies to go into any detail about how to troubleshoot this.
Good luck with your problem and do let us know the outcome, so others can learn from your experience.
