Awning spring load has unraveled

Awning spring load has unraveled

Question: Winnebago Adventurer 2002. Awning is spring loaded and rolls itself up. The spring load has unraveled (my bad) and now I must hand roll it up when departing. Is there a way to get the spring tension back without completely disassembling the entire awning?

Answer: We suggest you contact the manufacturer regarding how to do this correctly, if it is possible. Individual awning types work differently.

We do caution you to be careful if you attempt to do this, as retensioning it could be a bit dangerous should it slip out of your hands or knock you off a ladder, etc. Or you could damage the side of your RV.

Perhaps others have experience with your particular Winnebago year and model and can comment. But in any case, we suggest you contact the manufacturer of the awning for instructions.
